This seems to be a topic that everyone has an answer for but no one has the right answer. My problem is this:
I want to use photoshop as my default photo editor but I don't want to have the pictures open by default with Photoshop (I want the default viewer to remain as is while Photoshop becomes the default editor). As it stands, my photos open with Windows viewer but they edit with Paint, (which has always been and remains a waste of 1s and 0s). I want Photoshop to open the photosonly when I choose edit from the dropdown menu, I don't want to set Photoshop as the default program toopen picture files.
Every time I see this question being asked (regardless of forum), there's always some retard giving instructions on how to set the default open program for picture files. If that were the issue, I wouldn't have to ask here. Iknow how to set a default program. Unfortunately, setting the default program forediting photos isn't such an easy task. I'm sure that I could go into the registry and find the key and modify it, but it would be a lot easier if there were just some way to set it within the Windows GUI.
