Error when trying to burn an audio file to CD: Windows Media Player cannot burn some of the files. To investigate the problem, click the icons next to the files in the burn list

Problem in Windows Media Payer 12

I have a Dell Desktop which was upgraded from Vista to Windows 7. I can play music from Windows Media Player  playlist just fine. When i attemp to burn the very same songs to a music cd, the following message appears:

Windows Media Player cannot burn some of the files. To investigate the problem, click the icons next to the files in the burn list.

There are no icons next to the files and I'm stuck! Please help!

Answer

Hello

Was it working fine before?

There could be several reasons that the DVD could be failing to burn on your computer.

You may have you review the files and remove the corrupted files as the corrupted files will not get burnt.Icon means the exclamation or red x icon in the burn list itself.

I suggest that you follow the below link and try running the troubleshooter for DVD burning.

Open the Playing and Burning CDs, DVDs, and Bluray Discs troubleshooter
