Hope someone can help with this, I just got a new Acer Aspire 5532 Series Laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit pre-loaded. When I tried to burn the set of Acer Factory Default Restore disks, the first one was OK, but on the 2nd disk I got the following error msg: "Code 0x207 - 519 successfully 8. this COM excepetion does not be included in the error definition of IMAP18007045D. The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error (exception from HRESULT 0X8007045d FIRMWARE VER: kX04"
I then managed to burn the single System Restore Disk, but got the error again when I tried to do the full restore set, this time on the first disk. Thinking it might be the actual disks I tried a different brand, same result.
I checked Device Manager and the DVD drive showed a mark (couldn't make out what could be a ? mark) but the properties tab said the device was working OK, it also said "Windows did not start a related device driver" so I tried updating the drivers. Windows said that the best driver was already installed. The drive can play music from CD's and films on DVD. I haven't tried any 3rd party writing software as I just want to get my restore disks sorted first.
I tried Acer's Tech Support site and saw a fix for a similar problem with Vista 64 bit systems giving a Code 0x205 error, but don't know if it would work on Win 7. I put the same question to their Tech support but I'm getting nowhere with them, the Laptop was purchased in the UK on 4th March 2010 but I live in Turkey, they wanted me to contact .. wait for it ... Dubia !!! Joke or what.
