Cannot Login to my Laptop. Won't accept the right password. Windows 10

Hi all,

So I was using my HP Pavilion X2 today and everything was fine. Tried checking for updates but the 5 dots kept searching to no avail. So I decided to restart my Laptop. Came onto the login page where you are forced to type your password in. After entering the exact same password I used not 5 minutes ago, I get an error message saying this is the wrong password and that I need to go to account.live.com to change it. How can this be? I never use this Hotmail account as its only to login to my laptop. I don't know the phone number and there are no emails that I recall on this account as I don't use it except for the password. Can someone tell me what to do as I have NOT forgotten my password but it just wont accept it and says its wrong?

Thanks

I'm currently running Windows 10 prior to the large update that took place. Seen several similar situations, mainly on Windows 8. Can Microsoft please advise me on what to do? Fed up of all these bugs.

Hi Ashley,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community. I apologize for the inconvenience that you are experiencing.

Before troubleshooting on this issue I suggest you to use on-screen keyboard to enter your password and then click on next.

1. Select Ease of Access which is at the bottom of the screen.

2. Click or open On-screen keyboard.

3. Enter the password using On-screen keyboard and check if helps.

If the issue still persist, I suggest you to check in safe mode.

Start your PC in safe mode in Windows 10

Safe mode starts Windows in a basic state, using a limited set of files and drivers. It can help you troubleshoot problems on your PC. For example, if the problem doesn't happen in safe mode, you'll know default settings and basic device drivers aren't causing the issue.

Please get back to us if the issue persist in safe mode.

Guru Kiran
