I had the same issue on an I had the same issue on an HP Pavilion Laptop 15-cw1xxx, despite it saying all drivers were up to date. In the end I solved it by updating the BIOS....but it seemed to take a couple
of cycles through that before it actually made any difference.
Updating the audio drivers (several times) did not seem to have any impact.
I used the HP Support Assistant. I did make sure I select the UK region before looking for the drivers - I tried this yesterday, and while I cannot say for sure this made a difference, I know that updating the BIOS last night made no difference.
TL;DR: I tried updating the audio driver and BIOS more than once. One of them worked.
