Windows 8.1 BSOD after disconecting HDMI cable, could somebody help me analyse .dmp file please?
Hello last night I disconnected the hdmi cable from my notebook while I was viewing a movie followed by BSOD and windows restarted, I have uploaded the minidump file could somebody help me analyses the error please? I'm afraid I may have damaged my graphic
card unplugging the cable not carefully :(
he is the minidump file https://www.mediafire.com/?6cdyna9f3beo91o
The attached DMP file is of the SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION (3b) bug check.
This indicates that an exception happened while executing a routine that transitions from non-privileged code to privileged code.
This error has been linked to excessive paged pool usage and may occur due to user-mode graphics drivers crossing over and passing bad data to the kernel code.
Pretty simple what happened here given what you described. nvhda64v.sys called into a pagefault because you as described improperly disconnected the HDMI cable. nvhda64v.sys is the (take a guess!) nVidia HDMI Audio Device/(nForce
chipset driver).
---------------------------
With that said, if you have not had a crash since then, don't create worry for yourself. If however you have crashes occurring consistently after improperly removing the HDMI cable, then you may have damaged the port.
Either that, or it's something as simple as ensuring you have the latest video card drivers. If you are already on the latest video card drivers, uninstall and install a version or a few versions behind the latest to ensure it's
not a latest driver only issue. If you have already experimented with the latest video card driver and many previous versions, please give the beta driver for your card a try.
