Camera not working! error code: 0xA00F4244(0xC00D36D5)"

Camera: TOSHIBA Web Camera - HD

Driver Version: 10.0.10240.16384

Driver Date: 6/21/2006

I am using Windows 10 on Toshiba Satellite S55-B5289 and the inbuilt camera isn't working. When i open the camera application it shows an error saying: "We can't find your camera. Check to be sure it's connected and installed properly, that it isn't being blocked by antivirus software, and that your camera drivers are up-to-date. If you need it, here's the error code: 0xA00F4244(0xC00D36D5)".

I have tried all the steps from this link and have run troubleshoot for hardware but still the camera isn't working.

The Device Status of the camera (in Device Manager under Imaging Devices) is as follows: "Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45). To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer".

Please help me solve this problem. Thank you.

I too am having this issue.  When I try to troubleshoot the hardware and devices a message pops up saying my intel (R) iris (TM) graphics 540 is not working properly, but no way to fix it.  I have made sure my device is up to date.  I have the surface pro 4 and the camera was working perfectly fine until an automatic update on Word and PPT took place on April 9, 2016.

Hello Muf Diwan

Given your driver error in Device Manager, looks like you need to obtain a camera driver from Toshiba. If they don't have one for Windows 10, you can install older drivers, even a Windows 7 driver should work. Here's a link to Toshiba's site for the model you shared. I didn't see a camera driver, but it might be installed as part of other driver package. You might need to contact Toshiba to figure out which one.

Thanks,

Tom
