Mac verifying MS programs

Each time I open MS Word Outlook or Excel or PowerPoint my Mac which is currently running Catalina operating system wants to verify the Microsoft program.

It runs through the verification process which takes several minutes the icon bounces in the doc and then won't open.

I have to force quit the program and on the second attempt it will open successfully.

Any assistance in stopping this verification would be greatly appreciated. I see no need for it at all.

Thanks for the reply to my question.

Someone else posted a suggestion today and they said it solved this issue for them. They went to Mac OS System Preferences > Security and Privacy. They said giving Microsoft Apps full disk access fixed the issue. Please give it a try and reply here with the results. Remember, you have to click the lock at the lower left corner of the dialog before you change the settings in this dialog.
