How to add mydomain.com email instead of onmicrosoft.com

Hi all - I have recently subscribed to Office 365 and set up my DNS using the guide provided.

When I log in I can see it uses the onmicrosoft.com email - both for username and when I open outlook.

How can I edit it so it all functions using my native domain emails? I don't want to trigger another user and pay for it.

thanks

Answer

Hi Laura,

You may need to go to Office 365 portal -> Admin -> Users -> Active users and double click your account to modify the user name and primary address.

Click Edit to change the user name and primary email address to use the custom domain that you added in Office 365. If the address using the custom domain suffix is already listed as an alias, you can set it as primary. If not, you need to add the address as an alias at first. You can select the domain you want to use from the dropdown list.

Please note that you need to re-configure the mailbox in Outlook client. If you encounter any error message, please provide a screenshot of it.

Thanks,

Chris
