Microsoft Store Application Broken (or Missing) - Build 17110

***WORKAROUND LISTED BELOW***


Hello Insiders!

We launched build 17110 to WIP Fast this morning and have received a quick influx of feedback regarding the Microsoft Store application not functioning as expected.  There are several experiences being reported:

  • Pinned tiles missing on Start
  • Missing pin from Taskbar
  • Application not showing in "All Apps" list / Start
  • Missing from Settings > Apps & Features

Some users are reporting successful repair of the store with a powershell command listed further below in this thread.  While this is not an official MS workaround, it does seem to have fixed the issue for some users (it didn't for me unfortunately).

***WORKAROUND***

If you are hitting this issue, please do the following:

  1. Reboot your device
  2. Open Powershell (with Admin permissions)
  3. Paste in the following command:

    Get-AppXPackage *WindowsStore* -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}

  4. Reboot the device
  5. Store should now work

+1 - saw this issue immediately after upgrading.

I went into Settings > Apps > Microsoft Store > Advanced > Reset and attempted to reset it, but instead it completely removed the app and didn't reinstall it.

Now doing a Windows reset on the device.

 FWIW it's working OK on my 17110 desktop (64 bit pro).

My 32bit 17110 fast ring desktop store working perfectly here also.

Apparently I will need min. 16GB RAM for Win 12 perhaps even 32 GB RAM.

You're the first Insider to report a working store!  What build did you update from?  Also, what language/region is your PC set to?

I have Asus CM6330 desktop and old Acer 5738G laptop. Both upgraded from 17107 to 17110. On Asus Store don't work, but on Acer it is working as all ways.

Update = Replace old bugs with new ones.

Intel NUC i5:

Store app is working as expected.

I just upgraded from Windows 10 Pro 17107 to 17110 in Fast Ring.   

  • Region is United States
  • Windows Language is English US
  • keyboard layouts:  English (US) and Romanian - Romania Standard.

Surface Book i5 1st gen.:

Store app is working as expected.

Went through 2 upgrades today in Fast Ring: from Windows 10 Pro 17101 through 17107 to 17110.

  • Region is United States
  • Windows Language is English US
  • keyboard layouts:  English (US) and Romanian - Romania Standard.

I have a perfectly working Store app as well in 17110, upgraded from 17107. My region is set to Sweden, and Windows language is English US, with Swedish and Arabic keyboards layout.

On my Acer, Win 10 Home, updated from 17107,

Don't know if this is what fixed it for me but I ran sfc /scannow and the DISM commands and the Store app was back in settings did a reset then went to Store in the Start menu and all works again.
