xbox original games not working no matter what i do...

I bought MechAssault 2 lone wolf and balders gate dark alliance 2 last night from a game store, they are discs, and they wont work at all no matter what I do. I have tried everything on the forum currently, and still nothing. I used to be able to play halo 2 on my console, and now I cant. I have the 360 slim, and it used to play halo 2. when I try to play the games, the console says: The game couldn't start. Try downloading the game again. for more help, visit www.xbox.com/support." if anyone can help me, please reply to this post or email me at  [MOD REMOVED] any and all DETAILED instructions would be helpful...

Have you changed HDDs?  Xbox Originals run off a specific partition that is only available on certified Microsoft HDDs.  There's a lot of knockoffs going around that claim to be certified Microsoft units but are not.

 

If you did not change HDDs it's possible that the partition that runs Xbox Originals has been damaged in some fashion and would require a repair or a replacement HDD.

This is a long shot of an answer but have you recently updated your console? If you havent the problem may be because of you dont have the latest update

@x24hrs2livex -- the dashboard kernel version should have no impact on Xbox Originals.  It will keep you from signing into the LIVE servers to download the title update but chances are that someone who pays for a Gold membership and plays competitive FPS games has been on the live servers.  :-)
