Need Help. Gears of war 2 problem

I have recently encountered a problem in gears of war 2 that i can't find help for anywhere

i want to play with my brother, who also has a xbox live account on the same console. I am signed in and go to the menu of gears of war  where he can sign in to join me. problem is as soon as he signs in the game glitches. It freezes so bad i have no choice but to turn the console off and start again. This only happens when he signs in with his profile, if you sign in with any other one, it doesn't happen.

It's very confusing, i was wondering if this had happened to anyone else and if there was any advice on the situation?

I would clear the systems cache and delete and re-download both gamertags, and remember to only delete the profiles and not the content tied to them.
