Xbox Live/Gametag

This is my first Xbox and today i set up the profile here and when i went to connect to Xbox Live i get the message" This Windows Live ID is associated with a different gamertage. Enter another Windows Live ID and password", Now i only have one Windows live ID, now my gamertage is the same here and on the xbox I have paid for a yr membership(wish i never now. How can i solbe this issue.

You need to recover the gamertag. You can find instructions here - support.xbox.com/.../gamer-profile.aspx
