Xbox Live Disconnecting

so my Xbox keeps disconnecting from Xbox live and party's, it reconnects me almost straight away, but i cant play any games because it just kicks me out after a few seconds, but it i watch Neflixs on my Xbox its stays connected and my laptop doesn't keep loosing connection. what shall i do ?

I have BT infinity which i have had for about 2 weeks.

my Xbox has a wireless adapter

and its just getting very annoying can anyone help?

Unplug your wireless adapter and ensure it is clean. Re boot your router and then start everything up again. It may be your connection and the wireless adapter are not syncing up. If you are watching Netflix your incoming data is working fine. Your outgoing is what is kicking you off. I believe your adapter is either faulty or isn't compatible with your router. Good Luck

It sounds like this is happening to more than one game but could you please verify? Also is this happening in game, upon game launch, or just randomly even while just sitting on the dashboard? If it is happening to just one game upon launch try clearing the system cache. To do so follow these steps:

From the dashboard go to settings>system>Storage (or memory) select your storage device by pressing Y>Clear system cache> Yes

Try and see if this solution worked.

If it doesn't then try deleting any recent big updates and DLC. To do so follow these steps:

From the dashboard go to settings>system>Storage (or memory) select your storage device that has the game on it> Scroll through and delete any updates and DLC (you can redownoad DLC later)

Test to see if it solved your problem.

Disconnections when launching all games:

Could be a corrupt profile, To fix this follow these steps but keep in mind you must know your accounts email and password which I'm guessing you do because you made this post. Anyways to delete your profile follow these steps:

Go to Settings, and then select System.

Select Storage.

Select All Devices.

Select Gamer Profiles.

Select the gamertag that you want to delete.

Select Delete.

Select Delete Profile Only. This deletes the profile but leaves saved games and achievements

Test to see if this solved your issue.

Disconnections in-game for all games, or random disconnections:

Try restarting your router/gateway/modem (whichever you are using)

Test

Still not working? Try a wired connection or if you can't do a wired connection try improving your wireless signal. Or even better, for good measure, try both.

Test

Still not working? Try to maximize bandwidth by eliminating the number of devices connected to your internet.

Test

Not working again? Try reducing the number of people you are playing with if any on your console.

Test

If it is still not working contact your ISP (Internet Service Provider) and see if they know anything about what may be happening.

Do you have a wireless Turtle Beach or similar wireless head set in close proximity to your xbox? If so move the wireless headset receiver away from the xbox. Chances are the head set is running on 2.4MHz (xbox runs on 2.4MHz) and is interfering with your signal. If you are using Turtle Beach x32s this may not be your problem (x32s run on 5MHz)

I had a similar problem and this is how I fixed it. You stated that you have a wireless adapter, so I am assuming that your Xbox is not the slim model since the wireless adapter is built in. The original version of the Xbox was designed for the USB port in the back to be used for two thing's, the wireless adapter and the hard drive transfer cable. Then the Kinect came out, and for those that had the wireless adapter an extension cable was provided so you could plug the adapter in one of the USB ports in the front. So if you have a Kinect and have your wireless adapter connected to one of the USB ports in the front disconnect the Kinect from the back and connect the wireless adapter to the USB port in the back. Also if you have a USB hub device remove it. Last but not least try unplugging all USB devices except the wireless adapter in the rear USB port from your Xbox and see if your Xbox stays connected to Xbox live.
