i dont know though the it might had worked but when i go to multiplayer on red dead redemption it tells me "Your gamer profile does not have the correct permissions to access XBOX LIVE functionality

Each console will only allow the free month for up to 3 gamertags. So if your 360 has already used those up, then you won't get it.
Otherwise make sure that when you're creating the account you choose Yes to Join Live, then when it gives you the options for what gold membership to purchase choose "Upgrade Later" and it will offer the free trial if it's available.
Also, you shouldn't post personal information such as your email address in a public forum.
