Awhile back my xbox stop connecting to xbox live. So i went to the network setting and click on wired network and Its says "connect ethernet cable to both the console and the router, or modem" and it not the cable because the same cable works for 2 different laptops. I look it up the problem online and i thought that ethernet port was dead so i order a new xbox. I plug the new xbox in this morning and i still have the same exact problem. What can i do to fix it???

Xbox doesn't read the cable from router

To be clear, this issue is occurring with a brand new Xbox 360? What are you connecting to, a router or modem? If it's a router, can you try a different port on the router to see if that resolves the issue?

I would also suggest changing cables even though it works with two laptops.

Same problem over here.
A curious fact is that when I connect my xbox with the computer and bridge the networks to have internet access everything works fine. On the other hand when the xbox is connected directly to the router, the router doesn't even recognize it. I have to plug it off for 30 sec and then everything is fine, until I turn my xbox off again that is.
The strange thing is that for more than 3 years everything worked just fine.
So it's not the ethernet port on the x360 (because it works fine) .
Probably the router? Then why everything I plug in the Lan ports works just fine Except the X360?
The configuration? Then why does it work after I plug it off and on again?
Could it be some xbox update that messed with the way the port communicates?
Well I don't know and if anybody has an answer I would be glad to hear it :)
