Problem with transfering HDD HELP!

I have a xbox pro and wanted to upgrade to a new xbox 360 harddrive with more space. So i got a 250gb harddrive to transfer from my 60gb previous one. I followed all instructions and tryed every way possible but the new OFFICIAL xbox 360 harddrive and OFFICIAL cable arent being reconized. When i connect it to my xbox on top it says unformated so i select format and it says error when performing that action. Now im stuck there. If you have any ideas let me know. Should i reset my console? or cache?

Yes trying clearing the cache. Make sure your xbox is up to date. Don't use the little disc that came with the transfer cable since one of the recent updates included the data on that disc. Now to use it properly you'll need to keep the old harddrive connected to the xbox while having the new harddrive connected to the transfer cable. Then go through the process. Please keep us up to date on what you find. THX!

Where did you purchase the cable? Just wanting to make sure it's an official one, as the behavior you're describing sounds like when a third party cable is used. :)
