Controller Drifting

So my xbox one system is just at 1 year old. A few days ago the RS button started drifting. I can't even play games, no way. I saw on the forums some person at microsoft said to update controller ( which I do regularly) then unplug system for 5 minutes then plug it back in. If that does'nt work it's probably faulty and they will send them a new controller ( yes their system was over a year old). OK  so I did all the above to no avail. I contacted microsoft and they will send me a BLACK controller for $60.00 plus SH. Seriously? My xbox controller is white, I bought the white system. Anyone else having this problem. I have never had a problem on any of my systems with the controller. The forums show lots and lots of people having the same issue. Ugh so frustrating getting help from Microsoft..

Answer

Hey all, for any controller problems we do suggest making sure the controller is up to date first and then trying another controller to verify that it's an isolated issue with just that controller. If you're using an Elite controller, you'll want to use this page for any repairs.
