The Microsoft account Rename feature has been re-enabled.

To use this option, go to https://account.live.com/ and sign in. On the Account Summary page, click Rename under your Microsoft account. Here you’ll be given the option to create a new email address. We advise using Rename only to correct an email address on a Microsoft account.  For example, if you didn’t enter the correct account address or accidentally entered a typo when you created your Microsoft account, you can use the Rename function to correct the name.  Otherwise, if you want a new email address instead, we recommend creating an alias to use with your existing account. You’ll still need to log in with your current account name, but you can send and receive mail at your alias, and also use it as your preferred address for notifications and alerts.

If you encounter any issues or errors renaming your account, let us know by starting a new thread.  Thank you for your patience as we actively worked to restore the account Rename function.
