There is a 10-15 second delay after clicking a link from any Windows 8 Metro App before opening the web browser.

Title explains the issue: There is a 10-15 second delay after clicking a link from any Windows 8 Metro App before opening the web browser.

Doesn't matter which browser (Chrome, IE, etc.). Doesn't matter which app as long as its a metro app (mail, etc.). If I click a link to a webpage from any metro Windows 8 app there is a 10-15 second delay before it opens.

I have tried repairing Windows, turning off Windows defender, and a bunch of other things and nothing is fixing it.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!

Answer
Try to enter DNS addresses provided by your ISP or Google's (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4).
Also set these in your router configuration.

Hello

Try to set up the DNS servers manually in the network adapter settings (guide: http://www.plus.net/support/software/dns/changing-dns-windows-8.shtml).
It fixed the problem for me.

Apparently, it has something to do with the reuter improperly forwarding the DNS requests (I am using D-Link).
