His previous machine was a Windows XP machine; there was no problem running his legacy DOS program on that machine. I need to know what options there are to get legacy DOS programs running on a Windows 7 machine.
You must use DOSBox:
This allows you to run 16Bit DOS Application on a 64Bit Windows.

Note: you cannot run XP Mode on Windows Home editions. If you are using Windows 7 Home Premium, you would need to use Virtual Box, DosBox or any other 3rd party virtualization program that works with Home Premium. Please visit forums dedicated to these programs for more information.
