Windows 7 upgrade reaches 60% and hangs at "Transferring files, settings, and programs."

I am upgrading from Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 Home Premium but it keeps hanging at 60% - right where it is transferring files. The upgrade can go back to Vista but the problem keeps happening every time I attempt the upgrade.

Hi Mark,

Your log seems similar to what others have seen in that the install seems to hang shortly after migrating the Intel information so I believe this is a good bet to try these steps.

I've included a link to another thread as well where this worked so you can see how similar the other user log file is to yours. I would go one step further and suggest that you update all Intel software/drivers on your system.
