How to turn off Windows update in Windows 10.

We know it's frustrating when things don't work as expected. As per the description we understand that you want stop the automatic updates being installed on your laptop. Let me assist you with this.

Before assisting further, I would like to ask you few questions:

1. Which edition of Windows 10 are you using?
2. Are you facing any performance related issue on your PC?

Windows Update will be set to automatically install important updates as they become available. You won’t be able to turn off automatic updates in Windows

If you are using Windows 10 Professional, Enterprise or Education edition, then you will be able to defer the downloads and installations of Windows Updates on your computer system. Windows 10 Home users, will not see this option. Windows 10 Pro and Home users cannot disable automatic updates.

Some Windows 10 editions let you defer upgrades to your PC. When you select defer upgrades, new Windows features will not be downloaded or installed for several months. Deferring upgrades doesn’t affect security updates.

Note that deferring upgrades will prevent you from getting the latest Windows features as soon as they’re available.
