C:\windows\System32\LogiLDA.dll The specified module could not be found

I just installed WIndows 8.1 and whenever I start my laptop I get the message "There was a problem starting C:\windows\System32\LogiLDA.dll The specified module could not be found". Also, when I restart my laptop I get a message saying that the error is "THREAD_STUCK_IN_DECIVE_DRIVER". This picture quality of everything has also dropped. Can i just disinstall the update?

Answer

Hi,

What is the make and model of the computer?

LogiLDA.dll is a file related to Logitech Download Assistant or a driver file for Logitech Devices connected to the computer. This error message is coming from the Logitech Download Assistant (LDA). This is a Logitech component that checks for updated drivers. This is a common issue after removing any Logitech hardware devices.

I would suggest you to uninstall the current version of the Logitech device driver. Download the latest Windows 8.1 driver and install it on the computer.

If that does not help, then follow the suggestions given by MarcelB68 on October 18, 2013:

Note: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, you can refer to the following steps to back the registry files on the computer:

a) Press Windows and R key to open the run box.

b) Type regedit and press Enter from the keyboard.

c) Open the file option on the menu bar.

d) Click on Export and save the file with a name on the desktop.

If you want to restore the file, you can do so by double clicking the file that you have saved on the desktop

You received this ‘THREAD_STUCK_IN_DECIVE_DRIVER’ message because a device driver installed on your computer caused the Windows operating system to stop unexpectedly. It may very well be a defective video card driver issue.

Follow these steps and check:

a. Press Windows key + X from desktop and choose Device Manager.
b. Check if you are seeing a yellow exclamation next to Display Adapter.
c. If you find a yellow exclamation mark, then can right-click on the device and click on Properties to check the device status for any error.

I would suggest you to update the video card driver and also other drivers which are failing from manufacturer's website.
Download and install drivers
