How to change the default blank template in PowerPoint 2010

Hi

I would like to replace the default blank template that appears when PowerPoint 2010 is started by another one.

Can this be done ?

Answer
Answer

There are two things you need when you create a default template -- it must be saved in the right place, and it must be named the right thing.

http://www.pptfaq.com/FAQ01010.htm gives you information for all the different versions.

Basically, open the file you want to use as your new default.

Choose File | Save As and then choose Template (POTX) from the Save as Type dropdown.

PPT will take you to the proper folder to save the POTX in. If it doesn't, then see the FAQ on that link above.

Name the file Blank.POTX

Exactly as Echo says. If you like one of the built in theme you can also RIGHT click it on the ribbon >> Set as default
