I need to reinstall Windows and would like to copy email account settings to the fresh install. Both the current and future systems will use Windows 10 and Outlook 2016. Ideally I want everything else copied over too - emails and addresses, but I'd settle with just the account details of a specific account, which was tricky to setup with ports etc.
Now, I've found the Export feature under Outlook options>advanced but it seems to only backup a 'folder' to a PST file. If I point it at the account/email name above inbox for the account I want to copy the settings for - ie *** Email address is removed for privacy *** and not 'Inbox' below it, will importing that PST file also copy over the account settings?
It seems a little bizarre that you can't just click backup somewhere and copy everything you need in one go - at least I can't find it! I'm sure I used to be able to do this in Outlook Express very easily. Anyway, any help much appreciated!
