script error pop up while trying to download data for web

continuous script error message pop ups,  while trying to get external data in excel 2016. how do I get rid of these pop ups permanently.

Hi Amin,

Please try disabling script warning with steps below:
a. Press Windows key + R and type inetcpl.cpl and press OK.
b. On the Internet Options windows, click on Advanced.
c. Check "Disable script debugging (Internet Explorer)" and "Disable script debugging (Other)" and uncheck "Display a notification about every script error."
d. Click on OK.  Now, check for the issue.

If the issue persists, please confirm the following information:
1. Does the issue happen to some specific sites or all websites?
2. Delete all Temporary Internet files and website files. Open Windows key + R and type inetcpl.cpl and press OK. Then click Delete under Browsing history.
3. Try the Online Repair for your Office applications. Open Control Panel > Programs and Features, select Office application and click Change > Online Repair > Repair.
4. Make sure your Internet Explorer and Office applications are up to date. Please share with us the detailed version numbers.

Hi Bian,

I have performed the 2 methods but I still have the problem of the script error pop ups. When i went to  "Disable script debugging (Internet Explorer)" and "Disable script debugging (Other)" and uncheck "Display a notification about every script error." they were already disabled and after completing the Online repair there hasn't been any improvement.

the version I have installed are:

IE Verision 11.0.9600.18426

Update versions: 11.0.34

Excel Version: 16.0.6741.2063

If the issue persists, we’d suggest you post the issue in our Excel IT Pro forum for professional help.

I was having the same problem as Amin, continual scripting error pop-ups when I tried to import data from the web.

Like Amin, when i went to  "Disable script debugging (Internet Explorer)" and "Disable script debugging (Other)" and uncheck "Display a notification about every script error." they were already disabled.

Then I followed your suggested steps:

My computer proceeded to uninstall Microsoft Office 2016 from my computer! How can I go about reinstalling it?
