SOLVED! Office 365 Office 2011 for Mac Activation Error (Error code:0x80000003)

I subscribed to the Office 365 trial today 30-Jan-2013 downloaded the Office2011.dmg but when I try to activate it using my Microsoft Account I get this error...

Sorry, there was a problem while trying to connect to your account. (Error code:0x80000003)

I rebooted, reinstalled the application still no success.

I am using a 15in retina MacBook Pro 2.3Ghz 8Gb RAM 256GB SSD the OS version is 10.8.2

I went to office website https://office.microsoft.com/en-us/MyAccount.aspx and it is showing the install I did on the MacBook Pro. I then booted into Windows 8 Pro (using bootcamp). Office 2013 streamed, downloaded, installed and activated properly without issues, I then booted back to OSX and tried again, still no luck. Went back to office website to check my account this time I saw that there was another install done (for my win8 install) it is also showing my trial subscription. I checked my skydrive and I got the extra 20Gb and even activated my free 60mins for skype. So I know I have a subscription.

I went to support but could not find anything about this activation issue.

Can any gurus please help thank you in advanced :-)

I called Microsoft support discussed my issue, sent an email w/ some screenshots and got a return call after about an hour and a half (impressed with the turn around and quality of service).

It appears the error code I was getting was related to Region set on my machine. I reside in the Philippines and was activating from the Philippines. So the rep took over my machine for a bit changed the Region.

System Preferences > Language & Text > Region (tab)

Change from Philippines to United States then close the window.

Activate Office for Mac 2011 with your Microsoft Account.

You may change back the location after activation. Hope this helps people having the same error as me.
