Error 0x80246019

Hello People

I tried to get the update to 14385 and got this 'Error 0x80246019'.

I ran the troubleshooter and it went through hoops stopping and restarting a variety of things, then rebooted.

Now Windows update tells me I am up to date, but the feedback hub shows I still have 14383.

Any help from an engineer would be gratefully received.

Update:

I finally got the update after unplugging my webcam and printer.  (I've never needed to do this before with an update.)  I also deleted the $WINDOWS.~BT folder - then rebooted and tried again - this time successfully!

So perseverance is the answer!

Unfortunately not. Windows Update didn't even download anything, it just shows the error. I tried Disk Cleanup and deleted all related WU files but still gives the same error. Googling the error code gives me this:
0x80246019 WU_E_DM_UNAUTHORIZED_NO_LICENSE The download failed because the user has no license to download the content.
Thanks for trying to help though. But it seems like a pretty widespread issue which suggests to me it's a Microsoft Server-side issue rather than a Client-side issue.

That last reply was so unhelpful...

I'm getting the same issue and there is a report in the feedback hub. Go up-vote it...

feedback-hub:?contextid=158&feedbackid=36a9cc40-c43c-40aa-ad72-688a167801bf&form=1&src=2

(There you go, I actually provided the link!)

It didn't even attempt to download. I turned on my laptop and went to check for an update and it immediately stated I was up-to-date.

Tried again this morning and now I get this error instantly. Check again and now it states I'm up-to-date.

It's a bug, which I'm sure they are working on.

Hi all,

I have encountered this issue too but one hour ago I have received 14385 build with success!

I don't know exactly what solved the problem (error 0x80246019) but here's what I tried:

  1. Reset of Windows Update SoftwareDistribution folder without success
  2. Multiple reboot without success
  3. In Insider Program Settings (in Settings app), I select again my Microsoft Account without success
  4. In Insider Program Settings (in Settings app), I click on "Stop receive Insider build" but after on confirmation popup I click on "cancel" button. After that I make a few attemps and it's working! Error reappear again one time at the end of download phase but one retry later it's good.

I have also created a bug report in Feedback Hub here:

I hope this is help you.

In my case the solution was to disable real time security in Windows Defender. It seems a driver update for the video card that came with this build was detected as trojan *?* and was blocked.

An SFC /Scannow command in cmd as admin seems to have fixed error 0x80246019 so far and I am currently downloading build 14385 on Windows Update
