Ridiculous price of on demand games

Does anyone actually buy on demand games??  The prices are utterly ridiculous - you can buy these games in the shops for a fraction of what M$ are selling them for - and obviously that includes the box, disk & manuals.  Wake up for gods sake M$ - why should someone pay more that what they would in a shop & waste an hour of their bandwidth, for an electronic download only??  These on demand games should be around £10.00,

Agree, most of the pricing is far higher than it should be. But I believe the game developer sets the price. Also, I don't think Microsoft wants to get the retailers off side by under cutting them with the price. When game consoles go download only I think us gamers are in for a torrid time, high pricing probably then being the norm.

The only exception to that is when you get a game like Tales of Vesperia which is quite difficult to obtain unless you are prepared to pay an even more ridiculous price for it elsewhere such as on ebay.

It's not all MS is fault, the publisher is the one that sets the price for its downloadable games.  If you buy a game from On Demand, MS only takes a cut, not the whole thing.

Take a look at On demand PC games from the likes of EA, Steam and Direct2drive.  Yes, these games cost more than their disc counterparts, it's the way the industry works, allways has been.

Its a hustle.....I dont even check them out because of the prices....If people dont research games prices before buying, then they deserve to get jipped..  Some of those games are (+ $20) more than what the store sells them for.... AND FOR WHAT?   LOL

I bought two games from the games on demand. It is expensive but the good part of it is that I can redownload the game many times as long as it remains in the marketplace.

I prefer a disk, so when I want to, I can sell it or give it to a friend.  All I can do with these is, delete it.

If GoD sells the game for less than what stores do (they also will never take used game prices into consideration) then stores will correctly claim that MS itself is engaged in unfair competition.

Besides, people must be buying them if they keep adding new games to GoD like every week.
