Halo 4 Not Joinable error when trying to System Link

I somehow figured out how to get to the system link option on xbox 360 consoles both running Halo 4 but I get error message "not joinable" when trying to start a LAN game.There is no way to start a game once both have been set on system link option. The boxes are hard wired through a switch. The answer must be somewhere out in the ether but I cannot find it. Any help would be appreciated. 

you might want to try and delete the system cache on all the systems that are trying to connect to the system link so that all of them are running on the same version of the game. one persn may have already downloaded a title update for the game while the other hasnt so it will cause the each other system to think that its not correct version.

Here's what I found out both consoles running might need the same Title Update.Hope that works for you!
