Can't buy MS points

I havent been able to buy points all day and havent been able to get an answer from microsoft that helps..clearly this is a fault on microsofts part.

Do you get an error message?, if so could you provide it here.

Also check the support page (Top left of page) to see if there is a service alert in your region.

How are you trying to purchase the points?. (On the website or your console and have you tried both methods?).

ive tried both and it keeps saying it cannot authorize the selected payment option...everything on my banks side is ok and im not the only person having this problem

also having this problem, but it allowed me to buy 500 microsoft points twice so I now have 1000 ms points but it won't let me do it a third? and all my bank information is fine :s

I'm having problems purchasing MS Points as well. I've used two different cards. One Visa, one Amex. Both say "Your payment instrument could not be authorized. Please contact your provider, or try a different payment option." The cards are good, the info's correct, tried 400, 800, 1600 MSP's but still no luck. I guess I'm about to drive to Best Buy and just buy an MS points card. Convenience sure has its way of being inconvenient.

id do the same however i live an hour away from anywhere that sells MS points...and i shouldnt have to go out of my way to give microsoft more money

Hey - I am having the same issue with 2 CC's and my PayPal account. The CC's have more than enough to cover the charge for points. I noticed that I now have the PayPal option available (in Canada) so I added my account to my Xbox profile (had to do it online) and I successful added 2000 points.

I then made a 1200 point purchase which left me with 800 points. There was an XBLA title that I wanted to download but it cost 1200 so I went to the "Add Points" screen and selected the 500 point option and selected my PayPal account again and it failed.

Message: "Your payment instrument could not be authorized. Please contact your provider, or try a different payment option."

I have verified that all billing information and addresses are indeed correct and it still fails to this day, I have been trying to buy 500 points for a week.

What is going on with the purchase system?

I aswell am having this issue...same as everyone else. I've never had this issue, yet my friends can buy all they want.
