Xbox Slim Power Brick Red Light???? 4GB Power Cord on 250GB Console?

I recently bought a new Xbox Slim Console as my old one would cut out after 20-30 Minutes of game play. I was wondering if it was possible to use the power brick/cord of my 4GB Xbox slim on my 250GB old console? 

I have checked the back of my new power brick/cord. And noticed that voltage was the same 200-240 while the output DC was 120W while my old one was 135W.

Is it safe to use my new power cord on my old console or will it blow the power brick or console?

Just to make sure I understand, was the old console an original white Xbox 360 console, and Elite, or an Xbox 360 S console?

We always recommend using the power supply that was designed for that style of console. For example: You can't use an Xbox 360 S power supply with an Xbox 360 E console.

So if your old Xbox 360 console is not an Xbox 360 S console, we suggest not using the power supply from your new Xbox 360 S console with it.

Hi Mister Cerb

No my old console was a 250GB Xbox Slim and the New oen is an Xbox Slim 4gb. They're both S series. It is just that the new one is 120W while the old is 135w??

Here are the details on those power supplies.

  • Xbox 360 E Console: The Xbox 360 E console uses a 120-watt PSU.
  • Xbox 360 S console: The Xbox 360 S console uses a 135-watt PSU.


These are NOT compatible, and we would not suggest mixing these up.
