After a little more than a year of both my Xbox and Xbox account working very well, I've been experiencing problems that have made it unplayable for the last few weeks.
It started out with my profile not working, and any time I tried to recover it, I would get a message that it could not be stored on the hard drive. I went to google to solve the problem, and discovered that I had a corrupted profile.
I followed the suggested directions for a corrupted profile--deleting the profile and then recovering it. However, now anytime I try to recover it, it takes about an hour or two to recover when it used to take about 2 minutes, and about 10 seconds after it recovers, the Xbox freezes, forcing me to turn it off, and when I turn it back on, my profile is not there and I must recover it again, but the same freeze happens.
A few extra concerns/information:
-I have the Modern Warfare 2, 250GB console, if that matters to anyone
-I connect to Xbox live via a long wire connecting my Xbox to my router
-The Xbox seems to run slower than it used to with regards to loading, i.e. when I press "Recover gamertag" it takes about a whole minute to load of the screen where you enter the email
-I can play offline and it usually does not freeze (although it does once in a awhile)
-My brother recovered the profile on his friends Xbox at college and it worked fine
This leads me to believe that for some reason, the combination of my gamertag and console does not work for some reason. Any suggestions?
