Wired controller vibrates mic

The controller itself works just fine. However, very often, when the the controller vibrates, it says that there is chat or sound coming through my mic, usually other players hear a buzzing sound. I use X12 Turtle Beaches which are also wired.

This seems to be the same issue with my past two wired controllers. I believe that the chord that connects the controller to the mic is to blame, but I'm not entirely sure. If so, how could I fix this problem?

And BTW, I've gone through too many wireless controllers, so I gave up on them.

Thanks for your time,

Draconic

Hey there Draconic PvP,

Sounds like when the controller rumbles it may be interfering with the mic port. Does this only occur with one controller?

You can turn vibration from the controller off by following these instructions.

1. Press Xbox Guide

2. Go to Settings

3. Press Preferences > Vibration

4. Take the tick from the Vibration box.

Hope this helps you.

My controller makes a buzzing sound with all the wired controllers I've used, which would be three: two afterglows and one standard gamestop controller.

This did not happen for a while for my first afterglow

To continue with that, I took the chord that connects the wired controller to the headset's sound controlling thing of power and switched 'em so the side that was connected to the controller was connected to the headset and vice versa. The issue was gone for about 10 minutes. After that, It returned to its state of buzzing.

Thanks for the advice DJE, but one of the reasons I purchased a wired controller was to ease my unending desire for an all immersive experiance to reflect my glorious triumphes and explosions.

I did turn the vibrating off to see if it made the issue go away, and it did, along with disconnecting the chord that connects the controller to the headset.

I've heard peoples mics buzzing before but this is when there mic is on charge whilst it's being used.

So you still need to find a way to fix it without disabling vibration.

I am un-aware on a fix, apologies!

Have you inspected your wire for any damages?  A droning, buzzing sound usually comes from some kind of damage in the line, like a crossed wire or something of the like.  Is the rubber on the headset damaged?  If you've been through many controllers and it still manages to make this sound, it is leading me to believe that your Headset is to blame (and that is a nice piece too, hopefully it isn't broken).

A lot of damage always seems to come at the connection end or the end nearest the actual headphones because those are the least flexible and always end up severing somewhere around that part.  Usually it'll just stop working but if the wires create a current through the wire that isn't broken, you'll end up with electrical interference and that will cause a scratchy noise when talking if it still works, or a flat out, annoying, buzzing sound.  The same works with Ethernet cables, but I digress.  Have you tried using another Mic to see if the issue persists?

If your controller is vibrating and it's causing your mic to buzz, you might have a bad wire in the connection part and every time it rumbles, it may be very quickly and constantly touching and then not touching.  Does the buzzing go away if it stops rumbling?  Or is it there all the time?

EDIT ONTO LAST:  Also, when I have bad headphones for my iPod and I move my iPod around, if the wire is bad it'll make a loud crackling sound and sometimes the sound will go out altogether until I place the headphones back in the position they were in.

Thanks for the feedback Akuzimo, the buzzing sound only occurs when the wired controller vibrates. The sound, voice chat work normally and never have stopped working. As I mentioned previously, I switched the ends of the chord connecting the headset sound control to the controller and that decreased the problem for only a few minutes. I believe the problem derives from the chord that connects the controller and the headset. If that is the case, I wonder if I can acquire a replacement chord.
