VGA connection to monitor = no picture!

I just got a VGA cable for my Xbox 360 and I hooked it up to my monitor, but no picture comes up. The monitor doesn't even recognize that there is a cable connected even though it's in securely in both ends (I even screwed in those stupid little notches) and the monitor is in VGA mode. The monitor is a BenQ GL2450HM. All input is appreciated, thanks.

Hi, the first thing I would suspect is a bad cable, a bent pin on the cable maybe.

However did you try resetting the display settings on your console, power on the console using the guide button on a controller, as the console boots up press and hold Y and the right trigger until the console restarts.
