Picture quality went worse overnight

I bought an xbox 360 slim a week ago and everything was working fine, but today all of a sudden the quality of the picture went noticeably worse than before.

I'm using an hdmi cable and have the display set to 1080p. I didn't touch anything before that, the picture just went worse by itself. I thought It's the cable and i tried switching it with the hdmi cable Im using for my laptop - same result. The XBOX 360 logo at startup appears jagged and fuzzy and not smooth at all, dashboard text and pictures look very sharp and highly contrasting, and its the same with models in games (fifa 11, nba2k11). Also sometimes small white moving dots would appear on the edges of 3d models in those games or just across the background. Overall it's not that bad and its absolutely playable but it's not supposed to look like this and definetly different than the first few days. 

Any suggestions?

I'd check to see if your display has a "game" setting for that input and see if that helps. Also, I would try switching resolution settings and see if you experience the same issues. If you have the HDMI cable going through a receiver or switch I would try connecting directly to the display and see if that takes care of it.

Never mind. I just noticed this is a year old post revived and he's probably got it sorted by now. I did think it was odd someone posting 4 days from the future.. until I saw 2011.

Hey Jack Crow 2004! As Nimahan has pointed out, this is a dated thread. I'd advise checking out this sticky post in the ambassador forum for information on what earns XP (forums.xbox.com/.../257252.aspx). Most importantly review Miss Portia's comment about halfway down the thread :)
