Network Problem

Hi,

I'm encountering a problem when I connect my Xbox 350 S to my Belkin F6D4630-4 v1 modem. I know it works with the Xbox, as I've had it online. However, when the console is connected to my home network my Windows Vista laptop is completely disconnected from it, but the Windows 7 desktop computer and laptop are fine, and still connected.

I thought this was a simple case of reconnected the laptop; so, I selected my home network, entered the security key, but then it requested I set up another network from the same modem, a different one from which the Windows 7 computers are connected to. Wasn't it already connecting to one? Seeing no alternative, I made another network, and my laptop can now access the internet. But now my Xbox is disconnected from the modem, and it can't find the original network that it had connected to, and it can't connect to the newly created one, but the Windows 7 computers are still connected to the original network, so it still must exist.

I know that the Xbox is designed to share media with Window 7 computers, so is it the fact that I'm running a Vista computer from the same modem? Or is it something more technical?

Thanks,

TyrannalRain

Hay there, I think you should give this link ago and let us know how you go:

support.xbox.com/.../nat-type-strict

Hope this helps :-)

This should help you understand your NAT.

Hi

Is it possible that the Vista laptop and the Xbox had the same ip address before? Have you manually configured any of your ip addresses? That would explain and cause this problem
