Multiple controllers not working

How do you add controllers to Xbox one to play multiplayer games? The controllers are lit but aren't working

The controllers should automatically sync when seen by the Kinect. However, if you are having trouble, look for the small button on the left side of the console near the USB port. That is a sync button. Press that and the sync button on the controller to match them up.
