Locked: Microsoft get a life and stop random banning......

Well, I will have to admit that in the last few weeks, there seems to be an upsurge in console bans.  However, you won't get any sympathy from this site:  the official position is that you did something to get banned...if you don't admit it; i.,e, any poster who claims "I did not do anything" is labeled a liar...simple as that.

Anyway, post this in the Suspensions forums and maybe...maybe...you will get a specific reason, but I can just about assure you that your ban will not be lifted.

so the only reason is people have reported me for cheating and such things? why the hell should i cheat in a game. im not trying to be the best player in the world. im playing for fun. stupid microsoft.

You'll get sympathy from me. I haven't knowingly violated the terms and conditions either. This is happening to a lot of people, BluffFlipper. It's not just you. You have to realize, though, something is systematically wrong and the PET (policy and enforcement team) of XBOX LIVE has had to have made some sort of mistake. They can't be 100% accurate all the time, as they claim. There is no room for human error. Just hang in there 'till Tuesday and hopefully Microsoft will release some sort of press statement regarding what the hell happened this past week and why a lot of supposedly innocent, loyal XBOX LIVE users have been console banned. Best of luck to you. Don't do anything stupid in the mean time. Be civil and be logical. If nothing changes by Tuesday afternoon, then it might be time to start acting like a crazy.

I switched to PS3, no rip offs, free connection. And they don't do console bans, only account bans, and they barely ever ban unless multiple reports come in.

Start by canceling your gold account and removing your credit card, this will allow you to talk to an account rep in person.  Next, file a report with the BBB.  After that, check out Facebook, "Microsoft", "XBox", on the right menu select "More", then finally select "Discussions" on the same menu.  There, people are rallying for a fight under "Console Ban - Global".  We expect them to delete the posts soon but there is good info there with Microsoft e-mails, phone number, and how to contact Fox News.

No...you can be banned and never get one complaint filed.  MS can detect if you have altered the hardware or software in your console thru yourLive connection.  The most common one I have seen are those who dvd drives have died.  They take to some repair shop (or do it theirself) and replace the drive in an effort to avoid paying the $100 repair charge.  But when that console is connected to Live a signal is sent MS indicating a hardware change.  MS assumes your are trying to cheat online and shazam!  Instant console ban!

My girlfriends son's console got banned too.  MS is just doing a very poor job PR wise here though, they should have sent a email before hand....
