ghosts says moderate nat, one says open

strangeness today after changing network configurations to allow for port forwarding and static IPs. I currently have the xbox one stating I have an open nat yet call of duty ghosts stating it is moderate.

Here is the network set up:

What Country/State/Province do you live in?  USA, NY
Modem brand & model number:   actiontec m1424wr
Router brand & model number: asus rt-ac66r
Wired or wireless:  all important connections are wired
Things you have tried:   set static IP with port forwarding, reboots, ran the connection test and multiplayer test, etc
Is UPnP Enabled? Yes it appears so
Do you have a NAT error? If so, what is your NAT type?

moderate on COD ghosts but open according to xbox one

Any Error Codes you encounter:  no
Who is your ISP?(Internet Service Provider):

verizon fios

current set up is:
fios -> actiontec -> asus

I have an htpc that is on the network as well.

I wonder if it is the upnp, just want to make sure it will not mess up anything else on the network, especially the htpc/tv.

thanks

I'm thinking there has to be something wrong on Microsoft's end. Mine simply says Strict on the xbox one. Won't even let me turn on party chat. Can't co-op Deadrising. Tried everything from port forwarding to resetting UPnP, DMZ. Even called MS support and the lady said that I knew more than she did. I think it's gotta be them, I've never had a strict NAT with this router.

Same here; OPEN NAT on Xbox One, STRICT NAT on CoD. I've read on other forums (both X1 and PS4 based) people having these same issues. Its more likely and Activision thing.

I would guess that activision is using a port that we do not know needs to be forwarded.

status code:

0x1040040000000000

this is with upnp reset, etc. I went thru this

portforward.com/cports.htm

above link has a full list of ports for xbox live and individual games

CoD: Ghosts ports are

TCP: 1116-1150, 28910

UDP: 1116-1150, 5165, 27900-27901

Haven't opened ports for individual games yet so I can't confirm that this works but they are the listed ports for CoD:Ghosts, and you need to forward ports to open your NAT

Greetings RANDALL!

Could you verify if your ActionTec MI424WR is operating in bridge mode.

The ActionTec MI424WR is also router/NAT built-in and since you have an additional router, (Asus) your connection will be NAT'd twice. Under certain NAT behaviors, you won't even notice this but with UDP and NAT traversal you will.

Post back and let us know.

The impossible just takes a little longer

My friend is having the same issue.  Open NAT on Xbox One, Moderate in Ghosts.  Tried messing with the router settings, but no change. Motorola router, by the way.  I am not having this problem and I am using a Netgear router.
