So a few days ago, I tried to get on xbox live only to find out that my subscription had expired. Not normally a problem, although I do need to cancel membership for a bit. I go into the account management to try and cancel my membership, or modify my payment options in any way and I get the error code 8018101E. Plugged it into xbox.com/errorhelp and they had nothing. So I go onto xbox.com/live to try and manage my account there, and I can login just fine, but I can't access my account page, or else I get the "Uh oh... that shouldn't have happened. It appears you've found a glitch in the system." So I can't change my payment options, or cancel my subscription, or anything else.
Ok, this is getting weird now. So I look into the forums and find out that a handful of other people are having a similar problem. One user suggested looking into billing.microsoft.com, so I go there, realize that I hadn't updated my card's expiration date and it has recently expired, which explains why it isn't charging the card. So I try and remove that card as a payment option, but it tells me to remove my current subscription or update the payment option before I remove the card. Obediently, I try to cancel the subscription, but billing redirects me back to my account page on xbox.com/live... Only I still get the previously mentioned error message, preventing me from accessing my account page.
I've seen a few options to update my payment option (updating the expiration date comes to mind) but I don't want to renew my subscription at this time. Any thoughts on how to fix this?
