Console Restarting?

I have a new Xbox 4 GB model and my Xbox restarts every time that I would like to switch back to TV. I am connecting my 360 to my HDMI port and then I have a small stereo system that I am connecting with AVI cables (red and white) from XBOX to stereo system. Stereo system doesn't have optical either. I have read that it is due to an HDMI uplink problem. When I unplug the AVI jack/splitter and go to a different input on my TV the XBOX doesn't restart. Just wondering if there is a fix for this as I haven't found anything yet and just purchased a little $6.00 Microsoft dongle for an older system that only has red and white ports on it, thought that might fix the restarting issue but it doesn't. Thanks

The Beldar!

That's because you have both a HDMI cable and the AV cable plugged in at the same time. One is digital and the other one is analogue, so it is "confusing" the TV.

You can either use only the  AV cable, only the HDMI cable or buy the official HDMI adaptor, that way, you will be able to use both the HDMI cable and the AV adaptor for sound on a receiver or TV.
