I am the same mate I want to know as well as i have an xbox elite at the moment as I am trying to record clan matches on my Hauppeauge HD PVR and need to know if it can work in the hd component cable or not? If not looks like I may have to buy another elite in the future!

Everything for the orginal consoles will work with the new consoles. The only thing that won't work is the harddrive.

power cords would not work either. each generation of xbox 360 has a different power cable

yeah I used the SD/HD component cable from an earlier model Elite 360 on my slim this was before I upgraded to a TV with HDMI it plugs right in they have the same AV out jacks.
