I was just doing some photoshop work, and my laptop suddenly restarted. When it came back on, a blue screen popped up with this:
recovery
your PC needs tone repaired
the boot configuration data file is missing some required information.
file: \BCD
Error code: 0xc0000034
youll need to use the recovery tools on your installation media. If you don't have any installation media (like a disc or USB device), contact your system administrator or PC manufacturer.
press esc for uefi firmware settings.
the simple solution would be to put a windows 8 disc in and fully reboot, but I've got a lot of work on there and I really don't want to lose it. Is there anyway of fixing this without losing work? Or at least get into it so I can save my work on an external hardrive?
any help would be appreciated, if it's important I've got an Asus K55a, and it didn't come with a windows 8 disc but I can easily borrow one off a friend.
thanks a lot in advance
