Unable to modify Windows 10 screen lock timeout

I followed those directions but it still times out and lock the screen within a short period. There was another post I'd seen a few days ago that also referred to a similar (but different) registry key and that also enabled the unattended sleep timeout.

I'm am wondering if the problem lies elsewhere in the system configuration. These registry keys don't appear to be specific to a particular user. I was able to create another user on my machine that does not have this problem. Do the power profiles apply to all users or per-user?

If I create a new user, the power settings work properly. So there appears to be some user-specific settings that apply to the screen saver. Any ideas?

2. Do you get any error message or is the option greyed out?

3. Are you facing this issue in local account or Microsoft account?

You may follow the below steps and check.

1. In the search option of the taskbar type "Power and sleep" without quotes and press enter.

2. Now select the desired option in the screen and sleep section.

When you follow the above steps to change the screen timeout option, Does the settings get applied?

The add'l post was because no one seemed to be responding to this original one. The additional post got someone's attention.

In response to the questions:

1. To which settings/option are you trying to modify the screen lock timeout?

Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Power Options\Edit Plan Settings AND

Advanced Power Options

Display (all set to large values)

- Turn off display after 

- Console lock display off timeout

2. Do you get any error message or is the option greyed out?

No error message but the screen locks after approximately 15 seconds. I've not been able to adjust this.

3. Are you facing this issue in local account or Microsoft account?

My Microsoft Account.

NOTE: I use this account for another Windows 10 system and it does not exhibit this problem.

The settings appear to be applied. They hold after a reboot. But they screen lock still times out after 15 seconds or so.

I've read every post I can find on this issue. In addition to the above:

I've run the diagnostic tool for power configuration (can't remember the exact name). It reported no issues.

Reset all the power plan settings to default.

Created another user on the same system and that user does not have the same issue with the screen locking very quickly. Which is why I asked about user-specific power settings in a previous post (above).

None of this seems to have any affect.

I think I have the same problem, and it's Fall 2016 (many Win10 updates later).

I'm the Admin for my machine, and have no problem changing screen timeout settings, and they work appropriately. I have other non-Admin users for this machine. No matter what we change or what the settings are, the screen times out in 1 minute.

Quite annoying.
