Spinning blue circle next to mouse pointer

This did not work. The setting was already Normal. No change to the blinking circle. Any more ideas?

In addition to the resolution, we suggest that you run the System File Checker (SFC) tool to scan and correct if there’s a possible integrity violation on the system. To do this, you may follow the steps provided on this link. Once you’re on the page, you may expand and proceed with the steps from the Windows 10, Windows 7, or Windows Vista option under the Run the System File Checker tool (SFC.exe) section, and then complete the process. After completing the steps, you may check if the issue persists.

This is an incredibly frustrating issue. I do a lot of screen capture recordings and I can't have my mouse arrow popping up a blue circle every 4 to 5 seconds. I'm not sure exactly when this started for me, but now that I'm ready to do some more recording I'm noticing it constantly. 

Here's a solution I've found to at least stop the blue circle: 

1. Start with the Microsoft suggestion of going to the mouse properties.
2. Click on the "Pointers" tab.
3. Select the "Working In Background" pointer and click on "Browse"
4. Select the first mouse arrow option (the one that looks like a normal mouse arrow)

This doesn't get rid of whatever is causing the system to have to keep working in the background, but it will at least make the blue circle stop popping up.

I keep getting blue circle near the pointer on dell windows 10. I changed my pointer setting to default and normal select. I’v tried everything. Can you help me with this issue. It’s annoying to have this issue.

This thread has been inactive for a while now, and I would like to follow up on the status of your issue with your mouse pointer. In line with this, may I ask what are the troubleshooting steps you have done so far? Were you able to follow the steps provided by J Buchmann?

Good job, J Buchman, it worked...! I wasn't so interested in whatever background process was causing it, I just needed it to go away so I could get work done... It will be interesting to find out, but that for a another day... Thanks!

I have the same problem. The fix hides the spinning blue circle but the problem is still there, just harder to see. Any other options?
