Windows 10 photo app doesn't scroll to next photos

Hi guys, in my Windows 10 photo app there is no button to click t move to the next photo in my photo albums. Occasionally I will open a photo in an album and the button is there and I can scroll to the next photo but most of the time it is not there. It's really frustrating.

The other problem I have with this app is that it doesn't display my selected source folders. Even when I have deleted all source folders, the app still shows those folders despite me not wanting them and deleting them in the setting.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

thanks.

Hi Mark,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I understand the inconvenience caused. I will be glad to assist you with this.

To assist you better, you mean to say the old source folder does not change even if you have replaced it with a new source folder is that right?

Normally, when you view a photo from an album, the next button will appear. However, if that photo is the only available photo in the album, the next button does not appear. Could this be the reason why you don't see the next button? Do let us know.

Meanwhile, I would suggest you to run the Apps troubleshooter and check if it helps.

An automated troubleshooter is a tool that can find and automatically fix some problems with your computer. These troubleshooters aren't designed to fix every problem, but they're a useful tool to try because they can often save you time and effort.

Hi there, I tried the app troubleshooter but it did not find any problems to fix. Ever since I bought the laptop a few months ago, the photo app has never had the option to scroll to the next photo. I am trying to scroll to multiple photos within the same folder. Also I have refreshed Windows 10 about a month ago and also performed a SFC but to no avail. What can I do? Why does the app have this problem including the issue I mentioned regarding the source folders. I am finding Windows 10 and this app really frustrating to be honest!

Your help would be much appreciated!

Thanks.

I have just find out something in connection with the problem I am having! It is my photos in Google drive that do not have the scroll button. Photos that I open in other folders are fine... Why is the photo app having difficulty with the Google drive folder? It is saved locally on the computer.

Thanks

I'm having the same issue, only with Google Drive folders. What is so different about Google Drive folders that the Photos app can't see them?

I too am having this problem but it's just in the folder I just added. It works in every other folder I tried, but I can't get it to work on the new folder I just added.

Hi!

It seems that this problem persists not only if the folder (Album) is synced using google drive, but also if it is a synced folder managed e.g. by QSync (Qnap)

This is really annoying since we use such sync software in our team for whole project folders...any suggestions yet?

Cheers,

Flo

Instead of focusing on the scroll button, try using the arrow keys. Works for me.

I'm having the same issue. When I double click a photo the app arrows are greyed out, arrow keys in the keyboard and scrolling does not work either.

Back in the folder if I select a bunch of pictures then the photo app arrows can be clicked, it's not very friendly having to select all the pictures you want to see to be able to scroll through them.

One should be able to double click a single picture and scroll through the whole pictures on the folder without having to exit the app or making a selection of photos.
