Outlook Android app imap email won't delete

Immediately following an update to add "play my emails" (???) this morning i can no longer delete email from an imap account i connect to through the Android Outlook app. I tried the "reset account" option but that didn't help. I rebooted my phone. That didn't help. Given that problem started after the update and advanced options no longer exist i'm thinking this is on Microsoft to fix. Any other suggestions?

My concerns stem from an update to the Outlook app.

I am not getting any error messages; i simply cannot delete emails from my imap account. If i mark messages for deletion they reappear. In addition, i can can send emails from my imap account without receiving an error message but copies of those emails no longer appear in my "sent" folder.

I use the Outlook for a work-based imap email account and a Hotmail account. None of the issues i've described are happening with my Hotmail account.

I have not reinstalled the Outlook app. Deleting my imap account from Outlook and then setting it up again temporarily fixed this issue but it reappeared a day or so later.

I too am facing the exact same issue after the recent update. Imap accounts on all my android devices have suddenly stopped allowing emails to be deleted after this recent update. The screen shows the red rubbish bin icon and highlights it in red but it does not disappear, and the deleted emails then magically reappear after scrolling back up to the top . Crazy thing though is, it is allowing emails to be archived. This appears to actually delete them .Items do not appear in the archive folder so it appears this will be a temporary way of deleting them till this big is fixed. Most dissappointing how the app prevented any new emails to be accessed from the servor until it updated it too. Knowing the bug was there I didnt want to update the other devices but was forced into it to gain Imap email accounts access. The issue starts when the app pops up with a message saying it is retrieving and syncing the calendar and email servor. Restarting, and recreating the email account in Outlook also does not fix this.

having the same issue tried deleting app and reinstalling and deleting the account and adding again. nothing is fixing this issue since last app update.

IMAP is completely broken in versions 4.2039.2 (October 9) and 4.2039.3 (October 15). Confirmed by many users.

I am having same problem. I now have over 500 emails, that won't delete.

I'm the same, its really annoying. Over 500 emails and keep on trying to clear them. Wish they would sort it
