Want to replay ME2 and ME1 but....

.....I lost interest after viewing the ending of Mass Effect 3. I have no desire what so ever to buy ME3 in the near future(maybe not until the price drops to $20 with every single DLC included). The problem is I enjoyed playing the first 2 games, but the ending of the 3rd has ruined my desire to play/replay them knowing that my decisions are irrelevant.

Yup. That's about the size of it. I wish that I could have seen some of the good stuff I'd done in the first two pay off.

Now, I'm not all about good endings, far from it. But there should be that possibility that you can, at the end of all things, survive with your crew, or LI, and have an "old age with lots of little blue children" (Hey, romanced Liara, what can I say).

It would have been bittersweet enough with everyone lost in the battle, the billions killed. Destruction of Mass Relays. But with the ending they gave us it's just bitter.

And no, it's not in sync with the series, as some say. At the end of ME1, you beat Saren and Sovereign, strolling out of the rubble with a silly grin on your face.

ME2, you beat the Collectors, and if you played your cards right, your entire team survived the impossible, even rescuing your crewmates along the way.

But hey, if it's their artistic vision to put a poop stain on the Mona Lisa and call it art...I'll leave them to it.

*facepalm* Why would you watch the ending of ME3 before playing it?

Because everyone was in uproar about the ending, and I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. And I'm glad I did.

With all due respect, not buying ME3 because of the ending, especially if you played the first two is stupid.   There are still a lot of great moments in the game, and it is still very well made and fun to play.   Not playing it isn't going to change the ending, it's just gonna make you miss out on all the good parts and you do get closure on some things.   Just not anything that happens after the final mission.
Well, it would seem that BioWare can't keep ME3 out of the bargain bin anyway, since it has already dropped to $39.99 on Amazon.

T o hell with what you're saying dude. I know the ending is not the best but I did not go and play the first two just to skip the the third one. I never even played the first two until I heard all the hype for ME3. So the ending sucks, so do most movies.
To some, even a 10-15 minute ending can sour the journey that has taken 5 years. I'm one of those people. As such I have had no desire to fire up Mass Effect 1 to create a new character to carry through the trilogy, it's just not worth it to me when I know at the end it's just disappointment no matter if 95% of Mass Effect 3 is pretty good as it actually is. The ending however is not.

I had atleast 7 different and separate characters waiting to be imported into Mass Effect 3; I've only done one of them since completing the game and I've yet to do anything past Sur'kesh. So I think that speaks a lot when I've generally cared a lot about the story being told, the characters you interact with, and the world you immerse yourself as the Shepard that you crafted starting in ME 1. At this point though, I really could care less.

That's just me though, I don't expect anyone to agree.

@CrypticZero We think alike. I've done so many play-troughs of 1&2. Ultimate Paragon Charm, Ultimate paragon no charm, Ultimate renegade do everything intimidate, ultimate renegade don't do everything no intimidate - the list goes on.

I did this to see the full story play out in ME3, to see all the specific dialogue and characters that were influenced by my previous decisions. By doing this I have almost seen everything in the game, which is a lot...

When they said it imported 1000+ variables from both games, I had to at least see the difference of the opposites, Ultimate paragon charm and Ultimate renegade do everything intimidate. I saw a completely different game, until the ending...

As people have said time and again the ending itself is not directly influenced by pervious games, whereas it can be easier/harder to get certain endings as a result of actions taken in those games, if you get enough/too few war assets the endings play out.

I loved the game, but the ending killed my dreams after 5 years of waiting. Too many questions remained unanswered, there were no options that allowed the relays to remain active or explain a few things to you.

CrypticZero, I get what you're saying. You are fan and was disappointed. After I heard all the complaints and hate for the ending, I wasn't even sure if I wanted to continue play, but I did and I'm glad I did. When I get done with ME2 I'm still going to get ME3. Also didn't mean to offend anyone. I just don't like the extreme complaining. Ever game has it's lows.
